1996 Candidate Evaluations/Ratings
Since 1911, the Candidate Evaluation Program has been operating on the premise that a group of informed citizens are able to put aside their personal and political beliefs while evaluating candidates' abilities to serve in elected office. This year, the League rated the following King County candidates, listed in no particular order, running for office in the Washington State Legislature and candidates running for the open seat of the Seattle City Council position 6.Candidates with a  next to their name will be running in the November 5 General Election.

OUTSTANDING, VERY GOOD, GOOD, ADEQUATE, POOR, and NOT QUALIFIED. Ratings are determined by Candidate Evaluation
Committees based on each candidate's
KNOWLEDGE, EFFECTIVENESS, CHARACTER, and INVOLVEMENT and are reviewed by the Municipal League Board. Candidates in the same race are not judged against each other.
