The League took the following positions on issues that appeared on the September 16th primary election ballot for Seattle voters.

The League took the following positions on issues that appeared on the November 4th general election ballot for Seattle voters.

 

Bellevue Freeholder Election

On May 20, voters in Bellevue had the opportunity to make an important choice. They decided whether to set up a Board of Freeholders to draft a charter for the city. On the same ballot, they selected from among 33 candidates for the 15 Freeholder positions.

The Municipal League asked all the candidates to answer four questions about their views on Bellevue city government and the experience they have had that will be useful in the role of Freeholder.

2002

The League has taken the following positions on issues that appeared on the November 5th ballot.

The League took a position to support the Seattle Housing Levy, which appeared on the September 17th primary election ballot.

Other 2002 Publications

In addition to rating candidates and analyzing ballot issues, the League commissions balanced groups of volunteers to study and report on large issues facing our region.  In 2002, the League has released two general issues reports.

Budgeting is probably the most important and difficult activity of any local government.  Our Good Budgets report studies and evaluates the year 2000 budgeting process of five King County jurisdictions in an attempt to answer the question "What factors make up a successful budget?"
