Civic Engagement
In October and November of 2007, the Municipal League Foundation conducted a series of trainings on basic Internet use and the "Best of the Web" for researching local candidates and issues. We developed a straightforward PowerPoint presentation and supporting handouts.
We put together action teams of 2-3 volunteers who gave presentations at area senior centers, libraries and civics organizations. One person presented, while the others worked with attendees on computers. Foundation staff was on hand to support each presentation event.
A web-based version of our presentation can be found here.
The project was made possible through a partnership with the City of Seattle and its Technology Matching Grant Program
