TRANSPORTATION FORUMS
Muni League collaborates with the League of Women Voters. Chaired by Virginia Gunby, Trustee

The community is invited to participate in the joint Municipal League and Seattle League of Women Voters sponsored "Post I-695 Transportation Forums" every Tuesday in January. Each forum has a panel of local transportation officials, staff or community interests discussing current local, county, regional and state transportation issues. The last two are scheduled for January 18th from 10-12 am and January 25th from 1:30-3:30p.m. Both will be held at the Mercer Island Community Center [see address and directions below], located on the north side of I-90, near Luther Burbank Park.

Participants in the forum held on January 4th included Seattle City Councilman Richard McIvor, Susan Sanchez, Transportation Policy Supervisor from the Seattle Office of Strategic Planning and Jim Young. Co-Chair of the Transit Committee of the Downtown Seattle Association

Panel members on January 11th were Roy Francis, Director, King County Transportation Planning; Rick Walsh, Manager, King County/Metro Transit; and, Ron Postuma, King County/Metro Transit, Transit Oriented Development.

The first two Forums challenged the audience and study members with more unanswered questions than answers to the complex “Transportation Puzzle.” The next two Forums are designed to continue challenging us in our joint efforts to research, make findings and seek a consensus on the priority transportation questions and how to answer them. COMMUNITY CENTER AT MERCER VIEW (206) 236-3545 8236 SE 24th Street, Mercer Island, Washington I-90 Eastbound (from Seattle) take Exit #7A, 77th Avenue. At the stop light turn left onto 77th Avenue.  At next stop sign turn right onto North Mercer Way. Continue to 81st Avenue SE, turn left.  At next stop sign, turn right onto SE 24th Street.  The CCMV is two blocks on your left. I-90 Westbound (from Bellevue) take Exit #7, Island Crest Way.  At top of ramps yield onto SE 26th Street.  At the stop sign turn left onto 84th Avenue SE.  Proceed for one block and turn left onto SE 24th.  The CCMV is the first driveway on the right.
