REINVENT AND THRIVE
New League Chairman, Tom Albro, updates  efforts to strengthen support for the League

Dear Members and Friends,

As of March 7th, our fundraising efforts have brought in just over $37,000 or 74 % of our goal. This puts us right on target to raise over $50,000 by March 31st, but a strong push is needed now to secure our success in this effort.

Everyone receiving this newsletter has by now been solicited directly to make a contribution to the League. We have had a tremendous response, but many of you have yet to reply. Contributions of any size go a long way to not only meeting the fundraising goal but also to securing the health of the League. Without a doubt, a healthy Municipal League that engages in civic issues, promotes high quality public office holders, serves as a watchdog, and recognizes outstanding contributions in our community is a good thing.

The Trustees of the League are reinventing it. We are refining projects that we have done for a long time and adding new efforts to insure that the League is focused and making a positive difference. We can’t do it alone, of course. We need (and get, thank you) the volunteer, moral, and financial support of our members.

Now is the time to send in that contribution if you haven’t already. By doing so, you are not only part of the renewal of one of the oldest good government groups in the country, but you are making a smart investment in your community.

On other business, as I mentioned in the last Muni News, the Board of Trustees is deciding whether or not to continue our candidate ratings. This was a major focus of our February meeting. We will make our final decision this month. I appreciate all the input given on this subject. If you would still like to weigh in, please contact me at chairperson@munileague.org  or by phone at (206) 930-4004. The next issue of the Muni News will have a feature article on our decision. So stay tuned.

Until next time,

Tom
